İzmir Abigem (EU Turkey Business Centre, Izmir) has been established in 2002 as a joint project of EU and TOBB (The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey). The project has been financed by EU until March 2006. Upon the completion of the project and the funding of the European Union, the activities are being carried out in the form of a Private Company with full sustainability. The main shareholders of the company are; TOBB (The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey), EBSO (Aegean Region Chamber of Industry), Izmir Chamber of Commerce, Aegean Exporters’ Associations and other chambers and business associations. İzmir Abigem offers creative and applicable solutions to managerial problems of enterprises and entrepreneurs in the forms of training and consultancy services to enhance their competition power and business volumes. The main areas of services include Export Development, Export Consortia and Internationalisation in general, Marketing Management, Design Management, Design Consultancy, Finance, Training, EU Funds and Cluster Development. Consultancy services have been delivered to 217 SMEs, above 8000 participations from 2063 SMEs to 322 training programmes have been realized. Izmir Abigem can provide training and consultancy services for entry into the Turkish market for foreign companies, joint participation in donor funded projects such as the EU, UNDP etc, and providing experts for the national and international projects of foreign organisations.
