Ε.A.S.K.I. is Hellenic Cooperative that was established by the amalgamation of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Kefalonia & Ithaca , the Agro Cooperative of Skala Kefalonia, the Milk Cooperative of Pilaros Kefalonia, the Animal Breeders Cooperative of Dilinata Kefalonia, the Coop of Olive Oil Producers of Xavdata Kefalonia, the Agroindusrtial Olive oil Producers Cooperative of Ithaca. Currently it has more than 600 active members. E.A.S.K.I. has invested in new technology and submits the applications for more than 3.000 growers in order to receive their annual EC grants amounted to approx. 40 million euro for their plant, animal, and bee keeping actions.
It operates two olive press factories in the islands of Kefalonia & Ithaca and collects the olive oil produced under sunstable and organic agriculture. It holds the official code from the Ministry of Agriculture for bottling certified olive oil and is currently involved in the modernisation of its olive oil bottling plant so as to be able to expand its sales in the foreign markets.
In addition operates three shops in Argostoli Kefalonia : a) plant’s fertilisation, drugs and olive collection accessories, b) animal drug store and c) traditional cooperative hellenic products, and together with two agronomists and a veterinary advises the Kefalonian and Ithacician growers on any matter regarding their cultivations.
It also provides information and advices on matters regarding agro insurance matters.
